The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), says it has recorded another operational success after carrying out precision air strikes that targeted a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, located within the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was conducted on 10 July 2026 following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.
According to the statement, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged.
The NAF said the precision strikes destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several fighters, dealing another setback to the group’s operational capabilities.
“The successful operation further underscores the growing pressure being mounted on terrorist elements, whose freedom of movement and ability to regroup continue to be severely degraded by sustained air offensives,” the statement said.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to sustaining offensive operations against threats to national security.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” he said.
“We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities.”
The Air Chief added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains achieved so far in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
