The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has urged voters in Osun State to support its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the August 15 governorship election.
The party made the call in a statement issued on Sunday by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in Ibadan, citing the need for quality leadership, effective representation and equitable distribution of resources.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled Saturday, August 15, 2026, for the Osun State governorship election.
The Oyo APC also urged Osun voters to reject what it described as poor leadership and support a change of government.
The party said, “Osun voters should save their state from charlatans and comedians who have been in the saddle in close to four years with only the record of wastefulness, nepotism and brigandage to show.”
It added, “Regrettably, Osun and Oyo states fell into the wrong hands in 2022 and 2023 respectively, and the sad results of this development are evident in the key sectors of both states today.
“Osun State is worse hit because its residents and indigenes have had to live with the reality of having an incompetent leader at the helm of affairs. It is quite sad that a state which harbours a university with a global reputation for excellence and Africa’s most beautiful campus is being governed by a mere dance freak.”
The Oyo APC said it believed Oyebamiji had the experience and capacity to provide what it described as responsible and effective leadership for Osun State, urging voters to make their choice based on competence and the development needs of the state.
