A fire outbreak on Saturday engulfed the headquarters of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria in Abuja.
The blaze reportedly started from the fourth floor of the building, which is located opposite the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters, before spreading to the upper section of the structure.
A Facebook user, Praises Chukwu, who shared images from the scene, said the fire service team was battling to contain the flames, which appeared to be spreading across the top floor of the building.
“Mortgage Bank of Abuja, opposite CBN, currently on fire. The fire service team are putting up their best to take it out, but the fire seems to be spreading across the top floor of the building,” Chukwu wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not been established. There were also no official reports on casualties or the extent of damage caused by the incident.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the fire.
