Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66.
Hassan died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after battling stage-four cancer. His death was confirmed by his daughter, Kaira Taiwo, during an emotional Instagram live session. Multiple Nigerian media outlets also reported his death. (The Guardian Nigeria)
The actor’s death came less than a week after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed publicly for urgent medical assistance as his condition deteriorated.
On August 17, the sisters took to social media to seek help from medical professionals, hospitals and others with expertise in cancer treatment. They disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer and that doctors had informed the family that chemotherapy could no longer be administered because of his condition.
