The Kogi State Government has alleged that the school where four pupils were abducted during a National Examinations Council (NECO) examination had been inoperative and was being used as a “miracle centre” for examination malpractice.

The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, made the claim during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Friday.

According to Fanwo, the school had ceased normal academic activities after a new and better-equipped facility was provided, adding that the abandoned premises had become a centre for examination malpractice.

His comments followed the rescue of the four pupils, their principal and an ad hoc NECO official, who were abducted on Tuesday after gunmen attacked the school in Odo-Ekina, Dekina Local Government Area, during the examination.
