The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has appointed Hon. Kolawole Lawal Mobolorunduro, Ph.D., popularly known as KLM, as Assistant Director-General (Ogun West) of the party’s campaign council ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
KLM’s appointment is contained in the 74-member campaign council unveiled yesterday by the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The appointment has been warmly received by party leaders and stakeholders, who expressed confidence in KLM’s political experience, strategic capacity and ability to contribute significantly to the party’s success at the polls.
In a statement issued by the KLM Media Team and signed by its Team Lead, Ayoola Ashaolu, the team described the appointment as well deserved, citing KLM’s extensive political experience, organisational skills, strategic acumen, wide network and commitment to the ideals of the APC.
The statement noted that KLM, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented his constituency from 2019 to 2023, had consistently demonstrated dedication to advancing the interests of the party and supporting its candidates.
“With your amazing attributes — a perfect organiser, rich political background, high level of integrity, the respect you command, and your outstanding performance during your tenure as a Member of the National Assembly — the task ahead will be accomplished,” the statement said.
“This role is a well-deserved reward for your hard work and commitment to positive outcomes. We wish you all the very best in this new responsibility.”
The KLM Media Team also described him as an accomplished scholar, seasoned corporate executive and respected public servant whose career has been defined by excellence, integrity and dedicated service.
KLM was appointed Commissioner for Forestry in Ogun State in 2015 before being elected in 2019 to represent his constituency in the 9th House of Representatives. Since then, he has continued to strengthen his political profile while contributing to policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents and the wider community.
During his tenure in the National Assembly, KLM served as Chairman of the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges. He also chaired the House Sub-Committee on Finance constituted to investigate Federal Government intervention funds.
According to the statement, his contributions in these capacities helped promote accountability and expand access to government interventions for underprivileged members of his constituency and beyond.
The media team expressed confidence that KLM’s experience, political influence, integrity, organisational ability and capacity to engage diverse stakeholders would be valuable to the APC’s campaign ahead of the 2027 election.
