The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has expressed concern over continued violations of the ban on sachet alcohol production by some manufacturers in Nigeria.
The Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed this on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, saying some producers had continued to disregard regulatory directives despite repeated warnings and extended compliance periods.
Adeyeye said the agency had given manufacturers sufficient time to comply with the ban but observed that some companies had chosen to ignore the regulations.
She warned that NAFDAC was now considering appropriate consequences for companies and individuals found to be violating the directive.
The NAFDAC boss reiterated the agency’s commitment to enforcing regulations aimed at protecting public health and ensuring compliance within the food, drug and related industries.
