The Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, Odunayo Adebooye, has called for the trial and summary dismissal of soldiers accused of attacking students at privately owned hostels in **Osogbo>.
Speaking on Wednesday, Adebooye alleged that the soldiers, said to be military recruits, physically assaulted students, sexually harassed female students by touching them inappropriately, and stole mobile phones during the incident.
The Vice Chancellor also dismissed claims that the attack was triggered by students wearing military camouflage, insisting that the alleged actions of the recruits were unacceptable and showed they were unfit to serve in the Nigerian Army.
He disclosed that eight of the soldiers have been arrested, while calling for their prosecution and immediate dismissal from military service if found guilty.
