Hon. Kolawole Lawal Mobolorunduro, PhD, has described the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a huge blessing to the people of Ogun State and beyond.
Hon. Lawal, a former Member of the House of Representatives (2019–2023), also described Senator Adeola (popularly known as Yayi) as a highly resourceful personality with enormous influence and the capacity to consolidate on the achievements of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as the next governor of the state in 2027.
In a statement personally signed by him, Hon. Lawal said it would be an easy ride for Senator Adeola in 2027, owing to his exceptional performance and massive support base, which, according to him, will translate into overwhelming votes from all parts of the state.
His words: “As a Senator, he has performed exceptionally well for his people both within his constituency and beyond, across party lines, in critical sectors of the economy, namely agriculture, health, education, and road construction, among others, thereby facilitating rapid economic development across the state.
“Besides, he will benefit from the groundwork already laid by Prince Abiodun, who has put in place a workable blueprint which he can key into and harmonize with his own agenda to further position Ogun State as an investor destination.”
Hon. Lawal noted that the impact of Senator Adeola, whom he described as an uncommon figure in Ogun State politics, is already being felt across the state.
His words:”The emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Yayi), the uncommon Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has indeed changed the narrative of Ogun State politics. It is a testament to the fact that the political class can bring development to their constituents if they so desire.
“Senator Adeola, who fully joined Ogun State politics in 2023 after a successful political career in Lagos, has raised the bar in quality representation and has delivered the dividends of democracy to residents of his district and beyond within three years of his tenure in the Senate.”
With his unmatched performance, Hon. Lawal expressed optimism that Senator Adeola will receive the full support of the people of Ogun State and emerge as governor in 2027.
“I can also attest to the dynamic and progressive ideas of Senator Adeola. His emergence in Ogun State politics has provided an opportunity for a formidable and strong personality with deep political knowledge and the capacity to assume leadership as executive governor come 2027.
“With Senator Adeola’s performance and achievements so far, I do not think there is anyone from any other political party who can stop him from securing the endorsement of the good people of Ogun State in 2027.
“If you consider his pedigree, his association with notable politicians at the highest level nationwide through his position in the Senate, his rich political experience, and his leadership qualities, Yayi remains the bride of Ogun State.”
