The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has lost his polling unit in Ifofin Ward 8, Unit 1, Ilesa East Local Government Area, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s Osun governorship election.
Aregbesola cast his ballot at the unit on Saturday afternoon as voters turned out in large numbers for the largely peaceful election.
According to the result obtained by our correspondent, the APC secured 256 votes, while the ADC polled 13 votes. Accord, the ruling party in the state, scored 43 votes.
Meanwhile, at Ward 1, Unit 2, Ibokun NUD Primary School, Obokun Local Government Area, where the National Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, voted, Accord emerged victorious with 211 votes, while the APC recorded 178 votes.
As of the time of filing this report, collation of results was ongoing across the state.
