Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded a significant breakthrough following the surrender of a senior finance operative of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), as sustained military offensives continue to weaken terrorist networks in the North-East.
The Acting Military Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Captain Mohammed Goni, announced the development in a statement, saying it reflects the growing success of ongoing kinetic and intelligence-led operations across the region.
According to the statement, 46 terrorists and their family members have voluntarily surrendered to troops in recent days, a development the military attributed to increased pressure on terrorist enclaves.
Captain Goni said the senior ISWAP operative surrendered to troops of the 3 Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade at about 6:45 a.m. on July 25, 2026, along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis on the Gamboru–Wulgo Main Supply Route.
He noted that the surrender followed a series of coordinated land and air offensives by Operation Hadin Kai targeting terrorist strongholds.
Preliminary profiling identified the suspect as the Chief Finance Operative of the ISWAP enclave at Jubillaram, where he managed the group’s financial operations and logistics.
The suspect surrendered alongside two male children. Recovered from him were one AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle and ₦40,000 in cash.
The military said the surrendered operative is currently undergoing detailed profiling and interrogation to provide actionable intelligence that will support ongoing operations and assist in tracking down remaining terrorist elements.
