Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address Nigeria’s escalating insecurity, warning that citizens no longer feel safe even within their own homes.
In a heartfelt Instagram post Kadiri dismissed claims that public concern over insecurity is politically motivated, stressing that the daily loss of innocent lives is very real.
“This is not a propaganda! This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad,” she wrote.
The actress lamented the growing toll of killings and violence, highlighting the suffering of ordinary Nigerians caught in circumstances beyond their control.
“Too much death everywhere. Being a Nigerian is not even safe at home anymore. Too many innocent lives are paying for sins they know nothing about,” Kadiri added.
She directly appealed to President Tinubu to take immediate action, or at least grant citizens the authority to protect themselves and their
property.
“Dear President Tinubu, please do something… or give us the go-ahead to protect our lives and properties,” she implored.
Kadiri, who launched her acting career in the mid-2000s, is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s respected figures. Her plea comes in the wake of recent attacks by armed men on schools and nearby communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Pupils, students, and teachers were abducted from Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School, and L.A Primary School in Esin Ele, all within the Ogbomoso axis.
